Download the SEO Moz Toolbar
In Ranking Number One, I covered many of the page elements and metrics that determine the rankings of any given webpage, together with the manual methods for finding them. Understanding the mechanics of page attributes and where a page features in its link graph are essential to boosting your search engine results.
The good news is that SEOmoz has developed a toolbar for Firefox that automates a large portion of collecting information about a webpage without needing to look at HTML code.
You can download the SEOmoz toolbar for free and within seconds have access to:
- Page Authority and Domain Authority scores.
- Inbound and outbound link counts within the page and root domain.
- A detailed page analysis.
All the information is downloadable to CSV format, so it’s simple to analyze large numbers of pages, collect their statistics and compare in a spreadsheet. Additionally, you can use the toolbar to change your user agent (ie. appear as another browser) to compare how page content may change, and disable images and JavaScript to get a better sense of how a search engine spider would view the page.
